10 tips to keep your fresh food fresh: From storage to Consumption.

1. Keep herbs fresh: Place fresh herbs in a jar or glass with water and store them in the fridge. You can also wrap them in a damp paper towel and place them in a plastic bag.
2. Buy locally: Locally grown produce is often fresher than produce that has been shipped long distances. Try to buy your fruits and vegetables from local farmers or at farmers markets.
3. Store fruits and vegetables separately: Fruits give off ethylene gas, which can cause vegetables to spoil faster. Keep them in separate drawers or areas of your fridge. Store the storage which you will use for 2 to 3 days only, not more than that in the fridge.
4. Check expiration dates: Make sure to check the expiration dates on your fresh food and consume it before it goes bad.

5. Don’t wash produce until you’re ready to use it: Water can promote the growth of bacteria and mold, so it’s best to wash produce just before using it.

6. Use airtight containers: Keep your food in airtight containers to prevent moisture and air from getting in, which can cause your food to spoil faster.

7. Keep your fridge at the right temperature: Set your fridge to 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below to keep your food fresh longer.

8. Use your freezer: If you have fresh food that you won’t be able to use before it goes bad, consider freezing it. This can help extend its shelf life.

9. Use up your fresh food before it goes bad: Plan your meals around the fresh food you have on hand, and try to use it up before it spoils. This will help reduce waste and save you money in the long run.

10. Do not cut the fruits or vegetables and keep them in the fridge:  Cut while making food or while eating fruits. It affects their shell life and reduces nutrition in it.
