5)      Keep your spine straight and your chest lifted.

6)      Hold the pose for 30 second to 1 minute, breathing deeply.

7)      To release, bring your palms to the ground, straighten your legs, and come back to your standing position.

2. Pawanmukstasana or Wind relieving poses

Pawanmukstasana can help you get relief from excess gas from the intestines and stomach. This pose also helps in releasing muscle tension in the anus by improving blood circulation in the hips.

Here are the steps to do Pawanmukstasana:

1)      Lie down on your back with your arms and legs straight.

2)      Inhale and bring your right knee towards your chest.

3)      Exhale and hug your knee closer to your chest by interlocking your fingers over your chin.

4)      Keep your left leg straight and resting on the ground.

5)      Hold the pose for a few breaths, feeling the stretch in your lower back and hips.

6)      Release your right leg and repeat the same process with your left leg.

7)      After practising with both legs, bring both knees towards your chest and hug them together.

8)      Stay in the pose for a few breaths, feeling the stretch in your lower back and hips.

9)      To release, slowly release your leg and come back to lying on your back.

3. Balasana

Balasana is known to promote blood circulation in the entire body. This asana shrinks the hemorrhoids by supplying food to them.

The asana also calms the mind by encouraging the right way of breathing. The tendons, muscles, ligaments in the knee are also stretched thoroughly with the help of this asana.

Here are the steps to do Balasana :

1)      Start on your hands and knees in a table top position.

2)      Bring your big toes together and sit back on your heels.

3)      Separate your knees wide apart, about hips-width or wider.

4)      Exhale and slowly walk your hands forward, lowering your chest towards the ground.

5)      Rest your forehead on the ground or cushion.

6)      Place your arms by your sides with your palms facing up and reach them forward with your palms facing down.

7)      Hold the pose for as long as you feel comfortable, breathing deeply.

8)      To release, slowly walk your hands back towards your body and come back to a table top position.

4. Mulabandhasana

Mulabandhasana aids in healing affected areas due to piles in a short time. With regular practice, any one can manage the condition of piles with the help of Mulabandhasana.

How to perform Mulabandhasana ?

Here are the steps to do Mulabandhasana :

1)      Sit in a comfortable crossed legged position, such as padmasana and sukhasana, with your spine straight and your shoulders relaxed.

2)      Place your hands on your knees or in your lap.

3)      Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to center yourself.

4)      On an exhale, contract the muscles of your pelvic floor, including the muscles around your anus and genitals.

5)      Hold the contraction for a few seconds, then release on an inhale.

6)      Repeat the contraction and release the several rounds, gradually increasing the length of the hole.

7)      To release, stop the contraction and take a few deep breaths.

5. Viparita Karani

1)      Find the clear wall space and sit on your right hip and shoulder touching the wall.

2)      Slowly turn your body and lie down on your back and extend your legs up the wall.

3)      Scoot your buttocks as close to the wall as possible and adjust your legs so they are stretched up against the wall.

4)      Rest your arms by your sides with your palms facing up or reach them overhead with your palms facing each other.

5)      Relax your entire body and breathe deeply, feeling the stretch in your hamstrings and the release of tension in your lower back.

6)      Hold the pose as long as it feels comfortable, anywhere from a few minutes to 20 minutes.

7)      To release, bend your knees and slide your feet down the wall, rolling to one side and coming up to a seated position.
